Ukraine Update - Irina | August Part 1

Peak Vision Church!

Already behind our wonderful summer camp.

We are very grateful to all the people who made it possible! Our friends from Lviv invited us, paid for our meals and accommodation. But we didn't have the finances for diesel, to pay our driver and entertainment.

Thanks to you, dear friends, our children were able to visit and (almost all, except for Natasha, she was in this camp last year) for the first time saw the incredible beauty of our country: mountains, forests, fast rivers, lakes and ended up in a place that is so unlike to where they live. We are so grateful for your financial assistance. All collected money was converted into laughter, joy, courage, inspiration! You will see it in the photos that I send you. I would like to send you 100 photos, but I have to choose .

We are very grateful to God for the weather, which, according to forecasts, should be rainy, but God gave us sunny days almost every day! Due to the lack of rain, the water level dropped and the rafts ran aground so often.

But we had very experienced instructors who solved all the problems. Children got an unforgettable experience rafting down a mountain river. Of course, we were all wet and then we swam in clothes in the river. The kids had so much fun! So many bright positive emotions and a little bit of fear!!

In the evenings we sat around the fire, listened to a word from the Bible, sang songs, and had fun. The song "Those who walk with God are strong as mountains" became the anthem of our camp. The topic that we analyzed every evening, which became especially relevant for Ukraine during the war, is courage. These were stories not only about David, Gideon, but the stories of our today's heroes who protect us from enemies every day.!!

Thanks to their courage, we can sleep in peaceful homes and live. And on the ascent to Mount Khomyak, everyone could practically show their courage. Our Rostik and Vlad were in the group of climbers - well done our boys! And all the rest walked to a beautiful waterfall and spent time on a mountain meadow. The children were delighted with the landscapes, because for them it was the first climb to the mountain, and the mountains always captivate, and even test our courage and endurance.

On this day, God gave us unforgettable impressions, and inspired someone to new ascents and overcoming difficulties! On the last day we went to the Bukovel ski resort. We took the lift up the mountain and it was an exciting experience. Natasha even cried, we climbed so high. Children rode a catamaran on the lake. So many impressions! it's incredible! Dear friends! the children and I are very grateful to you for the finances, you are very generous and helpful people.

May God bless you! May there always be peace and prosperity in your country. May there be peace and joy in your families. We pray for you and thank God for you! We love you!

On the way back, (when we were returning home from the Carpathians, to Rzhishchev), approaching Kyiv, we made a small detour to call in Irpin. This is a city that was under Russian occupation. Children, seeing burned gas stations, shops, houses, each time cried out: “Why are they doing this! What have we done to them?" We drove up to the place where the burned and shot cars were collected. No one takes the cars, probably their owners died or left the city and do not want to return ... More and more this war reminds me of the invasion of orcs.

When did these Russian people turn into ruthless killers who destroy innocent women, children and the elderly, civilians, cities and villages, mocking our captured soldiers and officers so that the blood runs cold ..? I thank God that He brought me out of Russia 34 years ago. I am ashamed that I was born in Russia. What happened to these people? After all, it is not Putin who presses the button to launch a rocket at a peaceful city in a shopping center, it is not Putin who sets fire to our wheat fields. Ordinary soldiers are looting, pulling everything out of our houses, raping girls and women and children, running tanks and trucks over our people. That's horrible!

Unfortunately, interest in the war in Ukraine is declining weekly among other countries. More and more people are becoming passive observers. The war has become a kind of reality show. We are fighting for our survival and we need to win or we will perish as a nation. The recognition of Russia as a terrorist country is a challenge for all countries. We believe that light will overcome darkness. We do not have enough weapons, our country is learning to be strong and free!.

We really hope for the help and protection of our dear Lord!

Thank you for carrying us in your prayers, dear friends!

The family of Rostik and Natasha. When their mother is sober, there is peace and smiles in the family. Rostik enjoys his household, he takes care of the chickens, feeds them, gives vitamins. Zucchini, cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes grow in the garden. It is so delicious to pick a tomato from the garden and eat it. I recently bought Rostik a bicycle. He is very grateful. This is the first personal bike in his life. It's so easy to give joy to these children!

The family of Ilya and Masha. Mashenka shows corn in the garden, which she herself planted. The corn is already taller than Masha. When Masha is shy, she always keeps her hand near her face or even covers her eyes with her hand. The problem in this family is that Nastya cannot (or does not want to) find a job. She occasionally works in other people's gardens for little pay. Yesterday we went to swim in the lake, where fishing and swimming are already allowed, then Ilya swam 4 meters on his own. This is victory! I hope that by the end of summer he will swim "like a fish".

Work in crisis families ( Andrey, Artem, Virsavia and Svyatoslav)

Andrew lives with his mother. He will go to his last year of college in the fall, where he is studying to be a cook. Then he can find a job in his specialty. Grandmother Olga loves and takes care of her grandson Artem very much. Artem studies very well, he is a very obedient boy. Grandma has cancer but she doesn't give up, she wants to raise this precious boy. The mother of Bathsavia and Svyatoslav is a believer, they go to our church. Dad is in rehab, he is a former drug addict. But he recently accepted the Lord into his heart and hope that the family will be complete. They are very poor. Their mother works at the call center when she has time.

Dear friends, thanks to you, your prayers, your support, we can take care of these families in crisis. To make the lives of these children better, to fill their childhood with vivid memories. Thank you, dear friends, for the collected funds for a trip to the Carpathians. This unforgettable experience will remain in the memory for a long time. Thank you for not caring. That your hearts open to the disadvantaged children of Ukraine.

We ask you to pray for the victory of our Ukraine over Russian fascism.
