We have a cool summer. It rains often. It is calm in our city, there are no explosions, rockets, planes. We are quite far from the south and east of Ukraine, where the war is now going on. We go to church, walk around the city and go to the beach when the weather is nice. Every day we pray for our victory.
Now our country receives weapons from Western countries and America. Military experts say that in September we will have enough good weapons with which our troops can go on the offensive and liberate our occupied cities and villages. I don’t know how true this is, it may well be that this is an information war and this is not true. But I would like our troops to go on the offensive. Our former pupil Masha remained in Mariupol, her son is 1 year old and her husband. He is now hiding from the Russians because men are forced to join the army to fight against Ukraine. He doesn't want it. They are looking forward to the liberation of Mariupol from the Russians. I don't know how people live there, because 80% of all houses in Mariupol were turned into ruins.. how will they live in winter?
The government urges to prepare for the winter, to stock up on coal and firewood for those who still have old wood-fired stoves. But, basically, everything is heated either by gas or by electricity. Our solid fuel boiler is powered by electricity. Military experts say that it is possible that the Russian military will purposefully destroy power plants and heat stations. We have a generator that runs on gasoline. Now I am also stocking up on gasoline so that in case of a power outage we can turn on the boiler and heat the house, cook food and charge our phones. I can, of course, leave the country. Now our refugees are being accepted in many countries. But I don't want to leave, here I can help our children in winter. We hope in God! Thank you for your help and prayers and support.
It's good that New Zealand and Australia are far from other continents and you don't have a war. Our Ukraine is located in the center of Europe. Every century there is a war in our country, Ukrainians know how to fight for their freedom. It didn't always work out..
Please say hello to all the dear people in the church from me and from the children. May God bless you abundantly!
With the Lord!
Irina Klimova. Ukraine.
