Where The Enemy Has Been | Part 1 & 2

Updated: Aug 14, 2023

In this 2-part series... Jack starts with a situation where David, the future king of Israel, is facing one that is filled with challenges and distress. David had been anointed as king but was not yet reigning, and King Saul was jealous of him, pursuing him relentlessly. To escape the pressure, David seeks refuge with the Philistine King, who gives him a city named Ziklag.

While David is away, the Amalekites invade Ziklag, burning it down and taking all the women and children captive. Upon returning and seeing the devastation, David and his men are overwhelmed with grief and distress. They even contemplate stoning David, blaming him for the tragedy. In this dire situation, David finds strength in the Lord, encourages himself, and seeks guidance through prayer. He asks God if he should pursue the Amalekites, and God assures him that he will recover all. With renewed determination, David and his men find a captive who leads them to the Amalekite camp, where they find the enemies celebrating the plunder they had taken from Ziklag.

For the rest of the story, you'll have to listen in. Within the storytelling Jack emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's plans and not succumbing to fear and doubt. He shares a personal experience about a visiting speaker who accurately prophesied about a family's pregnancy and an attack on the baby but assured that God had already cancelled the assignment.

Jack encourages listeners to find strength in God during difficult times and not allow negative voices or situations to rob them of their joy and purpose. He highlights the need to stay rooted in faith and trust that God is always ahead of any challenges or obstacles we may face.
